Rainbow girl

Rainbow Girl
watercolor
7.9x7.9
matted 12x12 inches

These paintings are painted with three colors. Alizarin Crimson, Ultra Marine Blue and Aureolin. It is amazing that you can mix the whole rainbow and many many neutrals with these three basic colors. The key is that they are primary colors. I suppose any three primaries could do this but I find these three work nicely.

  1. that's Carol Marine's entire color lesson. Red, blue, yellow makes every color.
    You are awesome!

  2. Yes, it is true and this particular three colors seem to blend in endless combinations. The neutrals they make are really special.
