The Daily paintworks challenge of the week

The summer challenge
watercolor
7.9x7.9
$130
This painting can be found HERE

Now here are the steps for working from darks to lights.

I think I should have left the background lighter.
This means I either have to lift off color or darken the foreground. I need to think this through.

What I have learned so far...
Walk away five minutes before you think you should. Walk away...away....don't get all picky...
Are you listening to this Jo or are you rolling your eyes?
Oh and also "Comparison kills joy"

    1. It is so cold here. I find I eat a lot . I crave baked goods and hot tea and maybe Whale blubber if this goes on much longer.

    1. Diane it is just exactly a week since my first painting spiral of badness and shame. You were right. It did not endure. Thank goodness. I am back on track this week.

  3. Jo I love te looseness and bolder strokes. I can be tough not to be hard on yourself but everyone hates those rough patchs but comes through having learned something useful. whale blubber - wasat the Moby Dick Marathon yesterday. They akways serve Portugese fried dough early in the morning to give everybody go.

  4. I like what you have done with this. I like that you made the grass yellower and different than any of the other colors in the image. Personally, I don't think you need to do anything more on this. :)

    1. Oh ...great. I can leave it alone. Glad to do that. I like to have no moss grow under my shoes.
