What not to do or When you know better you do better.

This is a painting from the years before I understood how important neutrals were. As you can see it is full of saturated color but the problem is ..it is all color. They eye has few resting spots.
That is how I saw things then.
Here is another
Oh my gosh....they hurt my eyes.
They are a good example of when you know "better" you do "better".
So this is for not giving up. I am thankful to see color value spots now. I can use neutrals and create more pleasing patterns in my paintings.

  1. I can see the progress in your work Jo. It wasn't until I took a class with Peggi, that I started understanding values...still working on it! Your work and words are truly inspirational.
