This time I started with the mid-tones, then added the darkest darks and lastly the lightest of lights. This system of layering values seems to work no matter where you start . But once a decision is made you have to not change your mind no matter what. 

What I have learned so far...when it comes to values ..make a decision and move on. 

I still have a lot of white here. I think maybe should have kept it. 

Here come the dark value patterns.

I started with the mid-tones which I seldom do. I don't know why I decided to do it today.
