I just made a discovery. I am calling it the neutralize the outside/saturate the inside strategy. I think this is a discovery that has "legs".

      I'm not sure yet but I think If I cut the outside color of the petals with the complimentary color and use the color at full intensity in the middle I can produce depth without getting into the harsh blue or purple hues. I may be wrong....But I will try some and see.
